The Edge of the Seat…

While my focus and thoughts can shift multiple times during the day, God always has a way to remind me that there is a whole other realm with things going on that I can’t see. And just because I can’t see the spiritual realm right now with my physical eyes certainly does not mean there isn’t anything taking place. What I can’t see with my eyes, I FEEL in my heart, my spirit, my soul….the deepest recesses of my soul.

Following Jesus is being obedient, and unfortunately, obedience comes at a cost. The folks that provide that “ticket to pay” aren’t always the ones you expect. You might not see them as the “bad guys.” These people can be your friends, your family, fellow church members, and neighbors. They can be the very ones you least expect to pull the rug from beneath you; but nevertheless, here they are, and that’s what they do.

Satan will use anyone he possibly can and at any time he can to hurt us…to crush our hearts and spirits. It makes us question if we are doing what we are supposed to do – BEING OBEDIENT. Satan will use fellow Christians and even God’s own Word to make us question and doubt the role and responsibility – the very assignment – He has given us.

What is going on is a spiritual war, and it’s being waged on many levels – individually, within churches and groups, and even across the entire globe – all at the same time. When I think about the crushing hurt that come from people, especially those that we respect, look up to, and are friends with, it’s almost as if I can envision all of Heaven watching, waiting, and sitting on the edge of their seats to see clearly my next move.

See, when I am in the will of God, following the Holy Spirit, and being obedient, it matters NOT who comes against me. The ONLY thing that matters is that I remain steadfast and obedient – being still and allowing God to deliver…..just like He always does. His enemies will be the footstool to the One sitting on the Throne in Heaven, and He will prepare a table for me in the presence of my enemies.
